PATIENCE JONATHAN, OTHERS CONVERGE IN ONDO FOR MIMIKO’S
MOTHER-IN-LAW’S BURIAL
MOTHER-IN-LAW’S BURIAL
The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, Chief of Staff to
the president, Brig. Sehinde Arogbofa (retd) and other eminent Nigerians,
including the governors of Kogi, Akwa-Ibom, Cross Rivers and Plateau states, at
the weekend, converged on Ondo town, Ondo State, for the burial of Mrs Felicia
Modupe Adeniyi, mother of the wife of Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State,
Olukemi.
Dignitaries at the ceremony also included the Minister of
Communication Technology, Omobola Johnson; a former governor of Ondo State, Mr
Bamidele Olumilua; former Governor Adebayo Alao- Akala of Oyo State; a former
National President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chief Wole
Olanipekun; renowned businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, Chief Olabode Goerge, among
others.
At the funeral service, held at St. Stephen's Cathedral,
Oke-Aluko, Ondo, the Bishop of Ondo Diocese and Archbishop of Ondo
Ecclesiastical Province, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Reverend
Latunji Lasebikan, in a sermon, stressed the need for everyone to make the best
of life for the fulfilment of God's plans for them. Lasebikan described the
deceased as a devout Christian and community leader that is worthy of
emulation.
